Continuing our new series on Acts, Dave speaks from chapter 1 v 12-26 and shows how Luke wants to inspire, encourage and warn us through these verses. ‘The heart of our prayers should be grounded in Biblical vision’ and ‘Vision should shape our prayers so that the things that most concern us are the things that concern the heart of God.’

Dave looks at Jesus’ ascension in Acts 1 v 9 - 12 (& Luke 24 v 50) ‘Jesus ascended into heaven to intercede for us, - if you could have anyone pray for you, surely it would be Jesus!’ And ‘Be thirsty for the promises of the Father ….. because it changes everything!’

ACTS 1 v 1-8 As we hit the ground running with the beginning of our new series on ACTS, Dave focuses our attention on, ‘If Jesus relied upon the Holy Spirit how much more do we need to rely on the Holy Spirit!’ and v8 ‘This is what it’s all about, if we are the army of God then these are our marching orders!’

Looking at Psalm 26, Dave encourages the church to ‘pray and sow’ (v5-6) and states that praying and sowing comes with hard work and tears, and has to be intentional. We are asked ‘Where do I need to sow in my life in order to see more fruit in the future?’ And to consider ‘Could what I am experiencing now be a result of not sowing last year?’.

Following on from last weeks talk Dave now looks at Joshua 3 and asks ‘What do we see, do we see obstacles or opportunities?’

Dave brings to a close our series on Heaven and Hell with a look at the Heavenly Vision. ‘The promise of Heaven is to comfort us, it is not to make us comfortable!’ and ‘Are you aware of God’s presence in your life?’ Genesis 28 v 10-17 and John 1 v 43.

Dave brings encouragement from John 14 v 1 - 5 by looking at the beauty of heaven and that Jesus is preparing a place for us. Dave says ‘If God can give all this beauty (Creation) to His enemies, what do you think He has prepared for His friends?’

HELL Part 2 - Dave speaks from Mark 9 v 42 - 48. Dave begins with the order of salvation and then shows how vividly Jesus in scripture speaks to us about Hell. Dave asks us to think about ‘Where am I going to be in 100 years time? ‘ and ‘Nothing is too great to give up to avoid actually going to Hell’

HELL! What the Bible says about Hell, how we are to watch over our own hearts and hard questions we have to ask ourselves. Dave tackles this difficult reality with sound scripture and grace filled hope.

Dave speaks from Luke 23 v 39 - 43 and looks at ‘What happens when we die?’ With a clarification of the difference between the Present Heaven and the New Heaven and The New Earth.
