‘Every opportunity to share the gospel might be our last!’, ‘The timing is God’s we just have to obey!’ Pastor Dave Ward continues Acts chapter 8 (v 26 - 40) by looking at Philip leaving the Samarian revival to be led by the Holy Spirit to his next assignment.

‘Heed the scriptures as they are practical gold dust to us!’ ‘When the church becomes an authentic expression of the gospel that it shares, fruit will always follow.’ Continuing through chapter 8 of the book of Acts, Pastor Dave Ward speaks from v 9 - 25 noting that Philip’s preaching of the gospel, ‘loosened the traditional values of the culture they were in’ and in our own circumstances, ‘Things are changing as people are getting bolder due to the preaching of the word!’.

‘The purpose of life is not living long but living well!’ Acts 8 v 1 - 8 ‘is like an illustration of death that leads to life.’ Pastor Dave Ward begins by focusing our attention to v 2 showing how Jesus knew death was an intruder and that there is nothing wrong at all with Christian grief. Concluding that ‘our intention has to be to make our supernatural God alive to people in our everyday life!’

‘Always truth over peace!’ Pastor Dave Ward continues our series in the book of Acts from chapter 6 v 8 - 15 through all of chapter 7 focusing in from v51 to the end of the chapter. Stephen a man full of the Holy Spirit who very quickly became a martyr. Looking at the religious leaders of the time and coming up against dead religion ‘Steven was about to expose the lessons the religious order had spoken to everybody else but hadn’t learnt themselves!’ ‘Here we have the flame that became a wildfire’

‘Being full of the Holy Spirit is what sets us apart from the world.’ Pastor Dave Ward continues our series in the book of Acts with chapter 6 v 1 -7. ‘The Holy Spirit is the one who stirs our affection to serve’. Dave shows that Jesus wants to bring in redeemed power - leaders that handle power and authority vastly differently to the world by being a servant by nature without a hierarchical attitude. ‘Leaders who are servants by nature want power for people not power over people.’

Titled ‘The Goodness and Severity of God’ Dave Ward speaks from Acts Chapter 4 v 32 through to Chapter 5 v 11 and how scripture tells us the good and the bad for our benefit. Looking at Ananias and Sapphira’s responses to Peter’s Holy Spirit directed question and the divine judgement which followed. We are asked ‘If God had turned a blind eye would the outcome have been better or worse?’ ‘We should not be asking why they were judged but we should be amazed that we are still breathing!’

Pastor Dave Ward launches us into 2025 with a clear direction from Acts 4 v13-31. ‘If you are going to obey God more than man, then you will need boldness and to be filled with the Holy Spirit.’

‘How great is our GOD!’ Dave speaks from Luke 1v 34 - 38 & 2 v 1 - 14. ‘Glory is the visible manifestation of the holy mystery of God’. Rejoicing at the salvation brought to us by the good news of Jesus’ birth we find that ‘we have need of a saviour as we will never be able to save ourselves.’ and then ‘You cannot help but give yourself to God’s will and God’s work!’.

‘And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.’ Acts 2 v 42. Dave Ward continues our look into the book of Acts and focuses our attention to Chapter 2 v 42, reminding us that devotion is the idea of persisting in an activity and that no one else can be devoted to God on your behalf. Devotion is expressed to the one you love. ‘The legacy of Pentecost was a life lived out together.’ and ‘There is no such thing as a church-less Christian!

Continuing our new series on Acts, Dave speaks from chapter 1 v 12-26 and shows how Luke wants to inspire, encourage and warn us through these verses. ‘The heart of our prayers should be grounded in Biblical vision’ and ‘Vision should shape our prayers so that the things that most concern us are the things that concern the heart of God.’
